St Mary's Episcopal Church
Over the years St. Mary’s Episcopal Church has obtained the lots adjacent to their original site and now owns an entire city block in the DRD district of downtown Edmond, adjacent to the Edmond Public Library and Shannon Miller Park. As the church began to explore what their best use of the land should be they asked ddg to assist them by developing a master plan for the property. ddg met with the church over an extended period of time to determine their present and future needs, their planned future ministries, anticipated growth and design a plan to meet those needs.
The master plan is broken into three phases and provides a devlopment plan for the entire site. The plan includes a series of building additions and renovations to the existing facilities including, an expanded worship center to seat 350, additional two story classroom wings, a new children’s wing, a commercial grade kitchen, a gymnasium / Family Life Center and large gathering and circulation areas that will connect the sturcutures into one unified campus. In addition, the plan includes additional parking for both the church and the adjacent library as part of a shared access agreement. The overall site development closes the alley that divides the accumulated property, the creation of outdoor play areas for the children, and a new bell tower that will designate the main entrance with a covered drop-off area.
